2024 Highlights and Review

As we reflect on this past year, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for all that God has done in and through our church. It has been a year filled with growth, community, and opportunities to witness His grace at work.

Celebrating Spiritual Milestones

This year, we celebrated 8 baptisms, each one a powerful testimony of God's transforming work. We also welcomed 26 new members into our church family, strengthening our community and commitment to Christ. Additionally, we received 4 men as pastoral apprentices who are now being trained for ministry, an investment in the future leadership of our local church and beyond.

Reaching Out and Growing

We were blessed to welcome over 100 first-time visitors, many of whom were not yet Christians, presenting us with opportunities to share the Gospel. Online, our sermons were streamed nearly 1,000 times, extending the reach of our ministry "beyond the walls" of our church.

Special Events and Fellowship

Our church family enjoyed several memorable events this year. We hosted an Easter Brunch, celebrated our church's 1-year anniversary in September, and came together for a Reformation Worship Night in October. Each of these moments deepened our fellowship and our joy in the Gospel.

Equipping the Church

We provided opportunities for spiritual growth through various studies and groups:

  • Two ladies' Bible studies: one on the book of Ruth and another based on Kathleen Nielson's Women and God.

  • Small groups meet regularly for prayer, study, and mutual encouragement.

  • A men's group studying 1 John, fostering deeper understanding and accountability.

  • A summer Bible study in the park focused on emotions in Scripture (love, anger, fear, awe, etc.), which also included open-air evangelism.

  • Knox School of Theology: We launched our open online school of theology in November. In our very first class, we explored the question, "Does God love everyone equally?". And we are looking forward to everything we will study together next year,

Partnerships and Outreach

We strengthened relationships with other churches, participating in and hosting events together. A highlight was our joint picnic with Junction Church and IBEA Church, where the Gospel was preached, leading to a public declaration of faith by one individual who was later baptized.

We also had the privilege of joining First Baptist Church for a marriage retreat in Banff. This retreat provided a refreshing time for couples to strengthen their relationships, grow in biblical understanding of marriage, and enjoy fellowship in a beautiful setting.

Journey Through the Word

As a congregation, we completed our study of Colossians, delved into Philemon, and began rich explorations of the Gospel of John and Revelation. These studies have anchored us in the Word and deepened our understanding of Christ's work and His promises.

Looking back, we are amazed at the ways God has blessed and grown our church. We step into the next year with hearts full of gratitude, eager to continue proclaiming the Gospel and making disciples to the glory of God.
